Anne Blitz Letter to University of Nebraska YWCA

In her 1945 response to Mary Dye of the University of Nebraska YWCA, Dean Blitz insists that racial tension is not a problem on the University of Minnesota campus and that the administration makes “no discrimination on racial lines” in their dormitories.

By 1945, the University had begun to integrate dormitories, but it was unclear how successful or widespread that was. The Student NAACP was still concerned about discrimination in housing in the early 1950s
