Professor John Wright is surrounded by students and faculty who attended the Board of Regents meeting on April 25, 2019 when the vote was to be taken on the task force report, which called for un-naming four University of Minnesota buildings. After a regent made the shocking claim that racism was minimal at the University of Minnesota in the 1930s, those in the “audience,” sent up a cry to allow Professor Wright, whose family attended the university in that decade. The chair threatened to arrest him and others who were protesting. He was allowed to address the regents as the protest continued.
