Members of the Board of Regents revised and passed a policy on naming all buildings and university assets. Their process unfolded from 2019 when they rejected the task force report until 2022. The substantial revision put in place new policies and mechanisms to remove names and confer new names on buildings. As of 2024, the only action was the removal of Dean Edward Nicholson’s name from a building.
