The University Senate on Social Concerns and the Committee on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion responded forcefully to the conduct of members of the Board of Regents at their March meeting when several of them attacked the report of the Task Force on Building Names and Institutional Memory. As faculty and staff members of the University of Minnesota, they questioned the behavior of regents, argued that they had failed to live up to the defining purposes of the University, and noted that this behavior would have a chilling effect on future deliberations.
