The Star Tribune reported that the Minnesota Student Association unanimously supported the removal of Lotus Coffman’s name from the student union in March, 2018. The petition calling for this action was supported by 20 student groups and 16 faculty members. President Eric Kaler had appointed a committee on the University’s history the previous September that included faculty and students.
