Ray Chased asked Edward Nicholson to find a student who would be interested in doing research about what he presumed was Farmer-Labor voter fraud in the districts of the Iron Range. He noted that he had no information to prove that, but felt confident there would be a great deal to be found. His claim that he had no “ulterior motive” was unconvincing.
No letter in reply from Edward Nicholson appears in the Chase papers.
