Sheldon Kaplan

Sheldon Kaplan (1915–2011) entered the University of Minnesota in 1932. Despite being an outstanding student, he was suspended in 1935 because he missed two military drill classes. Kaplan was reinstated by President Coffman and became a symbol of how pointless required military classes were in the Minnesota Daily. He graduated in 1935.

Kaplan later went onto a career in law in Minnesota.
