Warren Grissom (1911–December, 1983) entered the University of Minnesota in 1933 and later chaired the interracial Committee and was part of the Negro Student Council. In his final year, he was asked by Professor Benjamin Lippincott in 1938 to provide a report on the housing situation for African American students on campus. His report offers the best documented information about the University’s policies regarding segregation. Grissom graduated in 1938.
