The student movement to remove the names of administrators who led racist and antisemitic policies at the University of Minnesota from the 1930s to the 1940s and beyond began in 2017. In 2019, their demands were supported by a University of Minnesota Task Force appointed by President Eric Kaler to review the evidence. Kaler also supported removing the names from the buildings. While the Regents deliberated over their decision, protest stickers appeared throughout the campus calling for the removal of the names. Ultimately, the Board of Regents rejected removing any name.
